Hello! We are the Swanson Family! We live in Northwest Washington and love the outdoors and adventuring together as a family.
In 2018, our daughter Eliza (then 2.5) was diagnosed with a tumor behind her eye. At the same time she was diagnosed with a genetic condition called Neurofibromatosis Type 1 (NF1). Two weeks later our 1 year old son, Oliver, was also diagnosed with NF1 and a rare leukemia called JMML. Oliver had a bone marrow transplant in December, 2018. Eliza underwent a year of chemotherapy to shrink the tumor behind her eye, but unfortunately is now blind in one eye.
Despite all the time we have spent in hospitals with the kids, we try to get outside and adventure as much as possible! We are also homeschooling for preschool and love doing hands-on learning activities with the kids.
We have had some difficult times as a family because of all the medical complications, but we trust and know that God has a plan for our good and for his glory no matter what happens.
